The VanMoof S6 is VanMoof's newest e-bike, released on June 11, 2025. It's the first model designed entirely under Lavoie (McLaren Applied's mobility brand). The S6 keeps VanMoof's iconic minimalist design while introducing a redesigned Control Core, a 3-gear mechanical AutoShift hub, a brighter Halo Ring and an improved Kick Lock. It comes in two versions: the standard S6 with 27.5-inch wheels and the S6 Open with a lower step-through frame and 24-inch wheels.
Four big changes: a 3-gear mechanical AutoShift hub replaces the electronic shifter for better long-term reliability, a redesigned Control Core runs the updated electronics more efficiently, the Halo Ring is noticeably brighter with new animations and better sunlight visibility, and the next-generation Kick Lock works even when the battery is empty. The S6 also ships with a 3-year warranty and an integrated Peak Design phone mount.

The S6 Open is the step-through version of the S6. It has a lower frame for easier mounting, smaller 24-inch wheels and weighs around 1 kg less than the standard S6. It suits riders 155–195 cm tall. Same motor, same battery, same electronics — just a different frame philosophy for riders who want step-through convenience.
