1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the RenovMate application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and the Developer regarding your use of the App.

2. Definitions

"App" means the RenovMate mobile application for iOS.

"Service" means all features and functionality provided by the App, including AI features when subscribed.

"Developer", "we", "us", or "our" means Aydin Can Polatkan.

"User", "you", or "your" means any person who downloads, installs, or uses the App.

"Pro Tier" means the subscription plan providing managed AI services with 200 queries per month.

"BYOK Tier" means the subscription plan allowing users to use their own AI provider API keys.

"AI Providers" means Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), and OpenAI (GPT).

"Content" means all text, images, photos, data, and other materials you create or upload within the App.

3. Eligibility

To use the App, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher)
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
  • Not be prohibited from using the App under applicable laws

By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. If you are using the App on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

4. Description of Service

RenovMate is a home renovation project management application that provides:

  • Project and task management tools
  • Time tracking with geofencing capabilities
  • Material and budget tracking
  • Photo documentation features
  • DIY renovation guides
  • Contractor management tools
  • AI-powered insights and assistance (with subscription)
  • Data backup and export functionality

5. Pricing & Subscriptions

5.1 App Purchase

RenovMate is available as a one-time purchase of €5.99 (or equivalent in your local currency). This provides access to all core features of the App.

5.2 BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) Tier

The BYOK tier (€2.99/month) allows you to use AI features by providing your own API key from supported providers (Anthropic, Google, or OpenAI). You are responsible for:

  • Obtaining and maintaining your own API key
  • Any costs charged by the API provider
  • Complying with the API provider's terms of service
  • Keeping your API key secure

5.3 Pro Tier

The Pro tier (€4.99/month) includes managed AI services with 200 queries per month. Monthly limits reset on your billing date. Unused queries do not roll over to the next month.

5.4 Subscription Management

Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store:

  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can cancel anytime through your Apple ID settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • No partial refunds are provided for unused portions of a subscription period

5.5 Refunds

All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple, as RenovMate cannot issue refunds directly. To request a refund:

Refunds are granted at Apple's sole discretion according to their refund policy.

6. User Responsibilities

By using the App, you agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Not use the App to store or transmit malicious code
  • Maintain the security of your device and data
  • Keep backups of important project data
  • Use AI features responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws
  • Not use the App to generate harmful, illegal, or abusive content through AI features

7. Content Ownership

Content you create within the App (projects, photos, notes, etc.) remains your property. You retain all ownership rights to your Content.

We do not claim any ownership over your Content. Since all data is stored locally on your device, we do not have access to your Content unless you explicitly share it.

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, features, functionality, documentation, and branding, is owned by the Developer and is protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal or business purposes in accordance with these Terms.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Use our trademarks without permission
  • Create derivative works based on the App
  • Sublicense or transfer your rights to use the App

9. DIY Guides Disclaimer

Important Safety Notice: DIY guides in the App are provided for informational purposes only. They are not professional advice and should not be treated as such.

  • Always consult licensed professionals for electrical, gas, plumbing, and structural work
  • Obtain required permits before starting renovation work
  • Comply with all local building codes and regulations
  • Follow proper safety precautions and use appropriate protective equipment
  • The Developer is not liable for any injuries, damages, or code violations resulting from following DIY guides

10. AI Features Disclaimer

AI-powered features in the App provide estimates and suggestions based on available information. These are not guarantees:

  • Cost estimates are approximations and may vary significantly from actual costs
  • Time estimates are guidelines and may not reflect actual project duration
  • Material suggestions should be verified with suppliers and professionals
  • Contractor analysis is based on provided information and may not reflect actual service quality
  • Always obtain multiple professional quotes before starting work

AI responses are generated by third-party AI providers and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or outdated information. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before acting on it.

11. General Disclaimer

All content in the App, including but not limited to DIY guides, AI responses, cost estimates, material suggestions, and contractor insights, is provided for informational purposes only and may not be accurate, complete, or up to date.

The App is a planning and tracking tool. It is not a substitute for professional advice from licensed contractors, architects, engineers, or other qualified professionals.

12. Warranty Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Developer disclaims all warranties, including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties of non-infringement
  • Warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the App

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
  • We are not liable for loss of data — maintain your own backups
  • We are not liable for costs, injuries, property damage, or code violations arising from renovation work
  • We are not liable for any reliance on AI-generated content or estimates
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the past 12 months

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Developer from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the App
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Renovation activities performed based on information from the App
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any Content you create or share through the App

15. Location Services

The App uses location services for time tracking with geofencing. By enabling location services:

  • You consent to the App accessing your device's location
  • Location data is used only for time tracking functionality
  • Location data is stored locally on your device only
  • You can disable location services at any time through iOS Settings

16. Data and Privacy

RenovMate is designed with privacy first:

  • All project data is stored locally on your device
  • No account or sign-up is required
  • We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data
  • AI queries (Pro tier) are processed securely and not stored
  • You are responsible for backing up your data

17. Termination

17.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Cancel any active subscriptions through your Apple ID settings.

17.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms
  • Is harmful to other users, us, or third parties
  • Constitutes abuse of AI features or system resources

17.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

  • Your license to use the App is revoked
  • You lose access to app updates and support
  • Active subscriptions will be cancelled
  • Your locally stored data remains on your device — we cannot delete it

18. Dispute Resolution

18.1 Informal Resolution

Before filing any legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We will attempt to resolve disputes within 30 days.

18.2 Individual Basis

You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.

18.3 Jurisdiction

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be resolved in the courts of Germany.

19. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes may be communicated through the App or our website.

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the App.

20. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. The application of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is excluded.

For consumers in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence may apply.

21. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

22. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the Developer regarding the use of the App, and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
