Privacy Policy

QuietControl is built around a simple principle: your data is yours, and most of it never needs to leave your device. This page explains what data the app touches, where it lives, and what we do with it — in plain language.

1. Data we collect

We don't run servers that collect your personal data. The app does not have user accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not transmit your subscription, screen time, sleep, activity, or calendar data to vanmoofer or any third party.

Specifically:

2. Optional crowdsourced pricing

If you opt in to the “Contribute Prices” feature, the price you pay for a given service in your country is sent anonymously to Apple's CloudKit public database, so other users in the same region can see typical local pricing. No identifying information is attached to these contributions — not your Apple ID, not your device, not the names of the other subscriptions you track. This feature is opt-in and disabled by default.

3. In-app purchases

Premium subscriptions to QuietControl are processed by Apple via StoreKit. Apple handles payment, billing, refunds, and subscription management. We receive only an anonymous transaction identifier confirming an active entitlement — no payment details, name, or contact information.

4. Notifications

QuietControl sends only local notifications generated on your device (subscription renewals, focus session ends, bedtime reminders, cancellation deadlines). The app does not use push notifications and does not integrate with any third-party notification service. You can disable any notification category in the app's Settings or in iOS Settings.

5. Analytics & tracking

The app contains no third-party analytics, no advertising SDKs, no tracking pixels, and does not track you across apps or websites. We have no way of knowing how individual users use the app, and we like it that way.

6. Crash reports

If you have iOS “Share with App Developers” enabled in your privacy settings, Apple may send anonymized crash reports to vanmoofer. These reports contain stack traces and device model information but no personally identifying data. You can disable this any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

7. Data retention & deletion

All your data lives on your device. To delete it, delete the app or use Settings → DEBUG → Clear All Data inside the app (the debug section is only present in development builds). Optional crowdsourced pricing contributions cannot be deleted individually because they are anonymous, but you can stop contributing at any time.

8. Children

QuietControl is not directed at children under 13. The app does not knowingly collect any personal data from children.

9. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Because we do not collect personal data on our servers, there is no personal data of yours for us to delete, export, or correct on request. If you believe we hold data about you, please contact us at the address below and we will investigate.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, communicated within the app.
